C4 HDi 110 DPFS wins MAAF award

The Citroen C4 HDi 110 DPFS has won first prize in the "compact" category in the 2007 Auto Environment Awards organised by the MAAF Assurances insurance company This award is further proof of Citroen's commitment to improving environmental protection.
In 2006 in France, in the category of vehicles emitting less than 115 g of CO2 per kilometre, the C1 1.0i topped the petrol category (19,570 units sold), while the C3 HDi 70 topped the diesel category (34,671 units sold).
Still in 2006, 55% of vehicles sold by the Marque emitted less than 140 g of CO2 per kilometre, while 24% emitted less than 120 g.
Jean Jacquemart, Director of Market Area, France at Citroen, received the trophy from Thierry Derez, Chairman and CEO of MAAF Assurances, at the Auto Environment 2007 awards ceremony in Paris on June 11. The prize is awarded by a jury of specialist journalists to manufacturers who make significant efforts to protect the environment.
The C4 HDi 110 DPFS stands apart in its category. It emits just 120 g of CO2 per kilometre for the version fitted with the electronic gearbox system and a particulate filter that virtually eliminates the particles discharged into the atmosphere. More than 500,000 Citroen vehicles fitted with this equipment are already on the road.
In addition to its diesel HDi powerplants and particulate filters, fitted on almost all engines delivering more than 100 bhp, Citroen is pursuing an active environmental policy through a wide range of technologies. Examples include: the C2 and C3 Stop & Start, petrol-driven micro-hybrids that reduce fuel consumption by around 10% in the city, the C3 and Berlingo CNG, which reduce CO2 emissions by around 20%, the C4 BioFlex, scheduled for launch this autumn. This is a flexfuel-type vehicle that can run on fuel containing up to 85% of ethanol (E85).
