Porsche with ERS springs wins the Daytona 24 hour race

After a gruelling 24 hour race for long-distance drivers there is nothing bigger than either being on the winner’s podium, or, as the Americans like to do, savouring the triumph in Victory Lane. Team TRG (The Racers Group) were able to enjoy these pleasures twice. With the Porsche 911 GT 3 Cup, the top German driver Joerg Bergmeister from Langenfeld and the ERS racing suspension system from the German specialist Eibach based in Finnentrop, Sauerland, the US team of Kevin and Debra Buckler claimed the GT victory in the 47th Daytona 24 hour race, the traditional counterpart of the Le Mans 24 hour race in the Sunshine State of Florida.

As the second place went to the other Porsche of the team, where the Austrian driver Richard Lietz also worked day and night, Victory Lane was closed to almost the entire rest of the field. "Our car was easy and comfortable to drive, said Bergmeister after his third victory in Daytona, thereby paying a big compliment to the suspension technology of Eibach, which has been tested in countless races.

Since 1966 the 24 hour race has been held on the Daytona International Speedway. As the sports car race takes place in February, drivers have to complete a much longer distance on the 5.7 kilometre stretch in the dark, than in the famous Le Mans 24 hour race. The long-distance classic on the Atlantic coast gets its special flavor from the town of Daytona and its 37 kilometre long beach, the ideal promenade for especially beautiful specimens of cars and motorbikes. The reputation of the speed and bike week is legendary – as is the quality of the motor sports products of Eibach.
